In June of 2011, friends Ali Wise and Dani Stahl hosted a combined birthday celebration, despite inclement weather (that caused the Black Eyed Peas to cancel their free concert in Central Park). The celebration was hosted at Dream Downtown, a then-new hotel.
The hotel is one of the many luxurious boutique resorts in New York City, New York, and prides itself on great service and great location. The hotel also is home to the HD rooftop lounge, Philippe Downtown, Natura Cafe, and the Dream Beach, a 5,000 square foot deck that includes imported sand, private cabanas, and a glass-bottom swimming pool.
The heavy rain, thunder, and heatwave did not stop party-goers from coming to celebrate. In attendance was Tinsley Mortimer, Nicole Mellon, Alex Kramer, Stacy Bendet, Gregg Bello. Leslie Schulhof, and David Schulhof.
The space was decorated with special snakeskin couches used just for the celebration, along with black leather banquettes. Dori Cooperman, another notable attendee, recalled of the night, “Even though it’s rainy, it feels like a bright, sunshiny day in New York, because it’s Ali and Dani’s birthday.”
Nicky Hilton was also there and had great things to say about the duo, “I love Ali and Dani, Vikram [Chatwal] and Noah, and I’m happy to be here and support, and check out the new hotel.”
Ali Wise said of her birthday, “Noah [Tepperberg], who runs this place, is one of my oldest friends, and Dani is one of my dearest friends. We always give our birthday party together. This is the first party they’re having in this space. They also own Avenue, and our birthday was the first party they had in that space a few years ago; they say we’re their good luck charm.”
